Sialon Westofen Dosing Tubes

We manufacture Sialon dosing tubes for both Striko Westofen and Westomat dosing furnaces.

These dosing tubes offer a superior service life compared to Aluminium Titanate (AlTi) dosing tubes, which means considerably less downtime for manufacturing.

With regards to Sialons, there is substitution of silicon by aluminum with corresponding atomic (melting temperature of aluminum) replacement of nitrogen by oxygen, to satisfy valency requirements. The resulting ‘solution’ has superior properties to the original pure solvent, syalon, silicon nitride or Si3N4.

Silicon Nitride like Sialon ceramics have found extensive use in non-ferrous molten metal handling, particularly aluminum and its alloys, including metal feed tubes for aluminum die casting, burner and immersion heater tubes, injector and degassing for non-ferrous metals, thermocouple protection tubes, crucibles and ladles.

Sialon & Silicon Nitride Striko Westofen Westomat dosing tubes give the best price/performance rate when melting temperature of aluminum at 660.3 °C.

As standard Aluminium Titanate dosing tubes have a relatively short service life (life span) and often clog during intensive use in Striko Westomat dosing furnaces, we have developed a low thermal conductivity Sialon dosing tube. These tubes come with a standard 12 months warranty against chemical attack.

The Westomat crucible dosing furnace is a clean, closed warming and dosing system for liquid aluminum. Depending on the system, the metal is always removed below the surface of the bath and is therefore automatically fed to the casting machine or casting mold free of contaminants.

Setting up and operating the system is easy with the Sialon dosing tubes. And that with extremely low cleaning and maintenance costs. Its lifespan is proverbial: Our customers still use our riser tubes after 2-3 years in service. The Westomat furnace can also be heated with Sialon Immersion heaters. It can be integrated into any die casting system, but also in gravity casting. With variants from 450 kg to 3,100 kg capacity, the Westomat covers all cast part sizes.The hydrogen content of the molten aluminium can now be easily measured by using our new hydrogen content measurement device which has been optimized for ultrasonic degassing.
