Info Sialon II ™

Sialon II ™  is the second generation of sialon ceramics especially developed for today's severe industrial applications in the world aluminium industry. We are specialized in thermocouple protection tubes and a new type of sialon heater tube with a very high thermal conductivity of 38 W/mK.

This new isostatically pressed class of sialon ceramics shows a major improvement with regards to the impact fracture toughness of Si3N4 / Syalon.

Thermocouple protection sheaths and ALPUR sialon heater tubes have excellent non-wetting properties and a smooth surface are also important new features. Sialon ceramics can now be manufactured in nearly all shapes.

Sialon II ™ thermocouple protection sheaths and heater tubes is an alloy of silicon nitride and aluminum oxide. This superior refractory material has the combined properties of silicon nitride or Si3N4 (high strength, hardness, fracture toughness, and low thermal expansion) and aluminum oxide (corrosion resistance, chemically inert, high temperature capabilities, and oxidation resistance).

With an extensive product offering from small style sheaths to the largest ALPUR ® heater tubes, our company has the experience and capability to satisfy your needs.

Heater tubes are available with plain ends, grooved ends for assembly with metal flanges, or with integral collars for the optimum in strength and reliability. Sialon ceramics are a very homogenous material that provides uniformity and consistent thermal conductivity.

Strong Sialon II ™  Protection Tubes with excellent non- wetting properties.

Sialon II ™ thermocouple protection sheaths are used extensively for continuous temperature measurement in nonferrous metals.
